AIX: Power and Renewables panellist – Tas Anvaripour, Global Partner for Energy Infrastructure, Abraaj

Anvaripour.pngTas joined Abraaj from Themis Infra, where she was serving as the Chair person. She is the former CEO of Africa50, Africa’s newest infrastructure delivery initiative and previously worked as director of business development at the African Development Bank where she led the design, structuring, fund raising and establishment of Africa50, among other initiatives.
Tas was instrumental in designing, structuring, and developing a fundraising strategy for Africa50 including securing a ground-breaking capitalisation of $830m. Prior to this position she was, for four years, the head of AFDB’s private infrastructure finance department, where she was in charge of private sector investments in the energy, transport, water, and ICT sectors.
Tas honed her deal origination and portfolio management skills at the Asian Development Bank, Manila, Arthur Andersen (New York) and PriceWaterHouse Coopers (Chicago). She has 27 years of industry experience, including 10 in public sector finance in Asia and 17 in corporate and project finance in Africa and North America.
A World Bank Fellow, Tas holds a BSc in Finance from Ankara University in Turkey and an MA in Economics and Policy Management from Columbia University.
