Ahmed has been Executive Director of the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency since August 2015. He has more than 20 years of international experience in several senior operational positions in the field of renewable energy, water and infrastructure at multinational financial institutions including the World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), European Commission, and Japan Bank for International Co-operation.
Ahmed has operational working experience across 22 Pan-Arab Countries of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region as well as several countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and Eastern Europe.
Ahmed graduated as a civil engineer from Ain Shams University in June 1990 and carried out additional project management studies at Universite de Nantes, France.
Ahmed is a panellist at the fourth annual Africa Investment Exchange: Power & Renewables meeting, which will be held in London on 15-16 November.
