Jean Paul M’Batna, Director General, Agence pour le Développement des Énergies Renouvelables au Tchad
Jean-Paul studied mechanical engineering at university and later received a Masters in thermal processing treatments. This led him to take an interest in clean energy production and write his PhD thesis on fuel cells. He worked as a research engineer for a start-up based in France designing new energy systems for pleasure boats. His work developed his growing interest in wind energy generation.
The Renewable Energy Development Agency was born out of an international conference held in Chad. The agency is responsible for designing and developing renewable energy projects. Jean-Paul actively promotes the agency’s work and investment into Chad’s renewable energy sector.
Jean-Paul is a panellist at the fourth annual Africa Investment Exchange: Power & Renewables meeting, which will be held in London on 15-16 November.
