As the Regional Director for AIIM’s activities in West Africa, Sola is based in Lagos and is responsible for transaction and business development across the region, most recently leading AIIM funds’ investment into IHS, and driving the prospective investments into Azura Power and Cenpower Generation.
Prior to joining AIIM, Sola was an Investment Manager in Macquarie Group’s European Infrastructure Funds team in London. He worked on a number of European infrastructure transactions in a principal capacity; including the buy-out of IVG’s petrochemical storage infrastructure in Germany and the acquisition of Pisto SAS, the largest crude oil and refined products storage and distribution company in France. He also worked on a number of bids for gas transmission, distribution and cavern storage assets in Germany, road networks in France and hospitals in Switzerland. In addition Sola was actively involved in the management of the Macquarie Funds’ portfolio companies, playing a key role in a number of strategic projects in the petrochemical storage and transportation space.
Prior to Macquarie, Sola worked at PwC London, latterly focusing on transaction advisory services to a Private Equity client base. Prior to PwC, Sola interned at ING Group and Citigroup.
He obtained his BSc in Economics from University College London.
