About Us

Set up in 2014, the Africa Investment Exchange (AIX) pairs African Energy's extensive regional expertise and source network with a seasoned events team experienced in producing high-level investment forums and dialogues across the African continent.

Through our power sector consultancy work and leading industry newsletter, African Energy has been involved at the heart of the debate surrounding the development of the energy sector in Africa for more than 20 years – African Energy Live Data, an innovative and interactive data platform featuring detailed profiles of more than 7,000 generation projects and plants across the continent, was launched in September 2017.

A unique perspective

As a consultant, rather than a traditional conference or events producer, we have a unique perspective when it comes to understanding the themes and topics that provide the foundations for a vibrant agenda.

We are focused on creating enduring dialogues between project developers and investment sources, including development finance institutions, private equity firms, venture capitalists, family offices, foundations, institutional investors and impact investors.

Membership programme

In 2020, we started holding monthly online meetings (and, later, hybrid meetings) in response to the brutal impact of the coronavirus pandemic on travel and traditional networking channels.

Building on this, African Energy’s experienced team of analysts has curated an AIX membership programme designed to offer stakeholders a trusted year-round forum for frank discussion and exchange of ideas and information.
