Ignacio de Calonje, Principal Investment Officer Oil, Gas & Mining, IFC

Ignacio is IFC’s London-based Principal Investment Officer for Natural Resources with responsibility over IFC’s Western European based clients in the oil, gas and mining sectors. Prior to his posting in London, Mr de Calonje was based in Istanbul and was IFC’s Natural Resources Sector Lead for Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa. He joined IFC in 2004 in Washington DC. Mr. de Calonje has extensive experience in the field of international finance, having worked on numerous equity, quasi-equity and debt investments in the natural resources sector in emerging markets. Before joining IFC, he worked for Lehman Brothers’ investment banking division in London and Madrid advising Spanish and UK corporate clients in mergers, acquisitions and debt capital market transactions. Mr. de Calonje has a Bsc in Business Administration from Universidad San Pablo-CEU (Madrid) and a Masters Degree from Columbia University (New York).
