Farhan has 40 years experience leading corporate strategy, project development, and finance for private companies in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Zambia and India. He has worked in the agribusiness (sugarcane, tea, floriculture), manufacturing (spirits, beer, engineering, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals) and services (tourism, construction) sectors. He has worked with commercial banks and development finance institutions to execute new sustainability-related initiatives – including pioneering renewable energy projects in East Africa. In addition to working for the Madhvani Group, Mr Nakhooda has worked for The UB Group in India as Executive Vice President for Corporate Planning and Financial Services. He started his career as a management consultant for A F Ferguson, India (now PwC India).
Mr Nakhooda has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, India and a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India.
