The African Energy Atlas 2016/2017 is now available to purchase.
Illustrating actual and planned projects across the upstream, downstream, and power sectors, the Atlas also features supporting analysis with sections on economic and financial trends. All maps in the new 92-page edition have been revised and updated.
In the power sector, all maps have been updated with information from CbI’s African Energy Database, which features details of over 3,500 existing and pipeline power generation plants throughout the continent.
In particular, the new edition of the Atlas expands coverage of West Africa power from three maps to six to provide greater detail of Senegal/Gambia/Guinea-Bissau (one map), Guinea/Sierra Leone/Liberia (one map), Mali/Burkina Faso (one map), Ghana/Togo/Benin (one map) and Côte d’Ivoire. Coverage of South Africa’s power sector has also been expanded with a new double-page map.
New upstream coverage includes a third map of Egypt providing greater detail for Red Sea acreage, a second map for the Niger Delta and an additional Angola map, allowing additional detail of the Lower Congo Basin and Cabinda.
