Hezy is an accomplished industry leader, with over 25 years of experience in corporate and project development in the renewable energy space. He is well known as pioneering geothermal projects around the world (mainly in the USA and Central America).
He has been involved in the development and construction of 15 Power plants, over 500 MW of renewable energy projects, and raised about $2 bn in project financing.
Hezy was with Ormat Group, mainly with Ormat Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: ORA) for twenty-one years. Ormat is a world leader in the geothermal power plant sector, which started in Israel in 1967. Hezy worked with Ormat during two periods: The first one between 1979-1993, and the second between 2000- 2007.
As the Executive Vice President of Business Development in Ormat Technologies, he gained extensive project development experience in renewable energy, including site acquisition, permitting, power plant construction, power purchase agreements, transmission, project operation and maintenance, financing and tax monetisation.
During the years 2000-2007, Hezy was instrumental in creating share holders value for Ormat Technologies to the tune of $2 bn.
