The Gambia National Water and Electricity Company Limited (NAWEC) intends to select an independent power producer to develop a 30MW dual fuel (HFO/gas) power plant. The Project forms part of NAWEC’s efforts to displace the reliance on expensive emergency power in The Gambia.
NAWEC, with the support of the African Legal Support Facility, has issued a Request for Qualification (RfQ) for the Project. The RfQ response deadline is on 3 December 2020.
The Gas-to-power investment strategies panel discussion at AIX Gas on 10 November 2020 will start with an overview of gas-to-power trends across Africa drawing on new figures from African Energy Live Data.
