Pedro is an economist with more than 20 years of experience in the energy sector with an emphasis on structuring, developing and financing thermal and renewable generation projects as well as transmission projects.
Over the past 10 years he has been involved in the following projects: 175MW CTRG, 450MW CCGT Temane, 110MW Nacala Emergency Barge, 400kV Vilanculos – Maputo Transmission line which is the first phase of the Mozambican Back Bone Project, Mocuba 30 MW (in operation), Metoro 30 MW and Cuamba 15MW (in construction) and PROLER Program which includes three solar and one wind project.
Pedro is currently responsible for market operations, business development and renewable directorates, managing EDM’s participation as shareholders on different vehicles, bilateral contracts and regional market sales on the power pool, coordinating technical assistance for renewable energy projects, with emphasis on designing the Terms of Reference, hiring of different partners and consultants and establishing the project contracts and know-how transfer. He is outgoing and detail-oriented, proficient at building and maintaining professional relationships with investors, cooperation agencies and government entities.
He holds an Honours Degree in Economics and successfully completed a Masters in Economic and Politics Management at the Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique.
