Ed serves as the Director for the Decade of Gas Secretariat, coordinating the joint industry and Nigerian government gas acceleration initiative. Prior to his current position, he held the role of Managing Director at Shell Nigeria Gas, leading the company through a period of rapid growth and ensuring the safe achievement of its domestic gas growth and support for Nigeria industrialisation. He joined Shell in 2001 as a Systems Engineer and has worked across various functions including Digital systems, Surface Engineering, Strategy, Deal Delivery and Asset Commercialization.
Ed holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the Federal University of Technology Owerri and a Master’s Degree in Engineering from the University of Southampton in the UK. He also obtained an MBA from INSEAD (France, Wharton US, and Singapore). He is the Immediate Past President of the Nigerian Gas Association (NGA), which serves as Nigeria’s overarching platform for advocating and fostering gas-related development.
Ed is deeply devoted to harnessing the potential of domestic gas within the energy value chain. His commitment in this realm was recognized when he was recently honored as the African Gas Advocate of the Year 2022. Additionally, he is an active member of various professional associations, including the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
