Charl brings extensive expertise in renewable energy solutions and strategic planning. Under his leadership, ACES Africa has become a leader in providing innovative and eco-friendly energy solutions across Africa, harnessing renewable resources like solar, wind, and hydroelectricity to meet energy needs sustainably. His commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility has guided ACES Africa in implementing projects that empower local communities and drive economic growth. Outside of ACES Africa, Charl is actively involved in industry associations promoting renewable energy adoption and sustainable development practices across the continent.

In 1993, Charl founded Accutech Automation, where he served as Managing Director until 2000, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit and ability to build successful ventures from the ground up. He later served as CEO and Founder of Fibercore Africa from 1999 to 2003, and as Group CEO of the Fasco Group of Companies from 2003 to 2009. Charl’s leadership journey continued as he took on the role of Managing Director at Racec Electrification from 2010 to 2011, where he spearheaded initiatives to drive growth and innovation in the electrification sector.

Charl began his academic journey at Hartswater High, completing his matriculation in 1982, followed by earning a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics from the University of Pretoria in 1987. During his university years, Charl conducted pioneering research on amplitude modulation techniques applied to microwave waveguides, showcasing his early passion for technology.
