Roland has over 30 years of experience in banking and fund management in both emerging and developed markets.
At Investec Asset Management, Roland focuses on the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund (EAIF), which has been a debt financier of power projects in Africa since 2002. The types of infrastructure EAIF finances, other than power, also include telecommunications, power, ports, railroads, roads and other transport infrastructure, water, gas pipelines and processing, and basic industries such as cement and steel, as well as infrastructure in mining and agribusiness. Roland is also a member of the Investment Committee of rAREH, an early stage private equity fund for renewable energy projects, focused on eastern Africa.
Roland has previously worked in project and corporate finance, as well as M&A for a/o Ermgassen &Co, EBRD, Merrill Lynch, Citigroup and Mitsubishi UFJ.
