Ed has focussed on the financing of large infrastructure projects in Africa for more than 15 years and has advised sovereigns, state-owned entities and contractors on over $25bn of infrastructure projects in Africa alone.
Before joining GKB Ventures in May 2017, Ed was head of export credit financing at Fieldstone. Prior to this he was head of emerging markets on the Capex financing solutions team at Barclays Capital.
Ed is a qualified lawyer and earlier on his career worked for five years at Simmons & Simmons where he focussed on structured ECA financing and was responsible for documenting many high profile ECA transactions in Africa. He has chaired the British Bankers Association panel for the development of various new UK Export Finance initiatives including new short-term schemes, a £5bn export refinancing scheme and £3bn direct lending scheme.
Ed is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales and holds a BSc degree in chemistry and law from the University of Bristol.
