Benon is responsible for off-grid renewable energy development at the Rural Electrification Agency Uganda, a semi-autonomous government agency responsible for facilitating access to electricity in rural areas.

He has over 20 years of experience working on energy policy development, rural electrification planning, and developing and implementing off-grid renewable energy projects at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development and the REA.

Benon holds a Masters in Engineering from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
