Katrien is responsible for business development, project preparation and evaluation, and supervision of USTDA’s energy activities in East Africa. She is also a member of the agency’s renewable energy sector team and smart grid sector team. Katrien previously worked as a research analyst supporting the Sub-Saharan Africa team at USTDA.
Prior to USTDA, Katrien worked as a Graduate Fellow for the Africa team at McLarty Associates, a strategic advisory firm, and a research assistant at The Enough Project, a non-profit organisation focused on the prevention of genocide and crimes against humanity in Central Africa.
Katrien holds an MA from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a BA from the University of Virginia.
