Chalker and Justin Pengilly Co-Founded GridX to focus on servicing the power demand of C&I consumers across Africa and to update the conventional utility-scale approach to power development in Africa.
Chalker has led successful fundraising and project development processes from inception through to closure. He is an American national that has spent several years living and working in Africa, successfully developing projects in Kenya, Tanzania, and Mozambique.
Chalker’s background bridges the gap between global capital market investment appetite into African energy and operating on the ground to develop bankable power projects to financial close.
Chalker previously worked for Blackstone’s large-scale African energy project developer, Black Rhino.
Chalker is a panellist at the AIX: Nairobi meeting on 2-3 October 2019.
