William is the Program Management Specialist, Energy at USAID Kenya, responsible for design, development, and management of the Power Africa program in the country from June 2014.
Prior to this, William worked with the Kenya Power & Lighting Company Ltd, rising to the position of Chief Engineer, Transmission. He was responsible for the operations and maintenance of the entire transmission grid. William also supported the planning and implementation of transmission network expansion projects, as well as regional integration initiatives for transmission system operators.
William has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Communications Engineering from Moi University (Eldoret, Kenya), and an MBA degree in Operations Management from University of Nairobi. He is a Registered Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK), and a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK).
