Algeria’s multi-gigawatt solar opportunity – the routes and the risks

5 June 2024, 12.00 BST (GMT +1), Online, Zoom

The planned addition of 3GW of photovoltaic power in a pair of procurement rounds is the first step in a programme to add 15GW of solar capacity by 2035.

The first 19 contracts have been awarded to eight successful contractors.  They need support and suppliers much of which is only available internationally. Local content providers also need know-how and additional capabilities.

Further procurement rounds are scheduled meaning that businesses which establish themselves in the market promptly will have multiple opportunities to secure business.

Join African Energy chairman Jon Marks, managing director John Hamilton and Anzul director Oualid Khelifi at 1200 BST, Wednesday 5 June for a breakdown of the context, the possibilities, the risks, and how to address them.

This event is free for all African Energy newsletter subscribers, Live Data subscribers and AIX members. Login here to confirm your free place.
