Amit Mohan is the Head of Private Credit responsible for managing CFM’s refinancing facility, Climate Credit Fund (CCF). He is also responsible for the management of distressed assets in accordance with the CFM’s risk management framework. In addition, he represents CIO on the Boards of the asset companies. CFM is a leading climate-centric blended finance fund manager. CFM designs and deploys climate finance funds at scale and at pace, working in partnership to develop climate-resilient solutions.
CFM currently manages two emerging market infrastructure funds focused on climate change mitigation and adaptation: Climate Investor One, a c. USD 1 billion fund focused on renewable energy, and Climate Investor Two, a c. USD 1 billion fund focused on water, sanitation and oceans infrastructure. CFM is currently implementing further blended finance initiatives in the green hydrogen, power transmission and cities sectors focused on development, equity, debt and guarantee financial instruments. Established in 2015, CFM is a joint venture between the Dutch development bank, FMO, and Sanlam InfraWorks, part of the Sanlam Group of South Africa with offices in The Hague, Cape Town, Singapore and Bogota.
Prior to joining CFM, Amit was an Executive at the Standard Bank Group and operated within the Corporate and Investment Banking team overseeing African operations as well overseeing Standard Bank’s Brexit strategy. He has had over 10 years of experience in Investment Banking, Transactional Products & Services and Global Markets with a proven track record ranging from the FMCG, mining, energy and infrastructure sectors. Prior to Standard Bank, Amit was the Chief Financial Officer at the Corporation and contributed to the financing of key regional energy projects through the local and regional debt capital markets. Amit did his articles with Grant Thornton. Amit has served on various boards in both the private and public sector across Africa and Asia, ranging from private equity, energy developers and public utilities.
Amit holds a degree in Accounting from the University of South Africa, an Honours degree in accounting from the University of Natal and is registered with South African Institute of Chartered Accountants
