Amyn heads the firm’s projects and infrastructure department and is also one of the co-heads of Africa Legal Network (ALN)’s energy and infrastructure sector group. Under his leadership, A&K has developed a dynamic energy and projects practice and is regularly engaged on the most significant power and infrastructure projects in Kenya. Amyn acted for the sponsors of the 310MW Turkana Wind Power Project and has also handled some of the largest real estate projects in the region, including the Garden City development and Centum Investment’s Two Rivers development.

Amyn is also active in the oil and gas sector having represented leading companies such as Tullow and Africa Oil and advised the government of Kenya on its first ever PPP coal concessions and the development of the 5000km undersea fibre optic cable which links Kenya to the UAE.

Amyn was one of the international experts who provided advice on a PPA handbook produced by the US’ Commercial Law Development Program and USAID as part of President Obama’s Power Africa initiative.

Amyn is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and is an alumnus of the University of Houston, where he received his Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Business Administration.
