As Managing Director of Business Development for OPIC’s Global Energy Group, Brian divides his time between leading the group’s early origination and customer relationship management and serving on due diligence teams for power finance transactions in developing countries.

Brian joined OPIC as a Director in its Political & Sovereign Risk Insurance unit, where he served as lead underwriter for energy, agriculture, and water-related projects located in the Middle East, Africa, and South America.

Prior to this position, Brian was the senior renewable energy analyst at the US Department of Commerce. He won the Gold Medal, the Department’s highest award, for work leading to China’s removal of barriers to US wind turbine exports. Brian also led negotiations among eight US government agencies resulting in the adoption of the US government’s Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Export Initiative, as well as the creation of the Secretary of Commerce’s private sector clean energy advisory committee.
