Christian is the CEO for Elsewedy Energy, the IPP company of Elsewedy Electric.

Overall, Christian has focused on the IPP business primarily in Africa over the last 24 years.  Prior to Elsewedy, he was the Managing Director, East Africa for Globeleq, where he successfully led power project development, acquisition and financing across the region including the 52MWp Malindi Solar Project in Kenya. Prior to that and over a span of 10 years, Christian has helped form Aldwych International, in addition to developing and financing the €624 million, 310 MW Lake Turkana Wind Project in Northern Kenya. During his career, he held several senior positions in The AES Corporation; he was the Country Director for the Bujagali Hydro Project in Uganda, a Director for Cameroon’s integrated utility and Head of Strategy covering Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Christian holds a BA in Economics & Politics from University of Mary Washington in the USA and holds MPhil, International Relations from University of Cambridge in the UK.
