Cliff  has 13 years of experience in the electricity distribution sector under Zimbabwe’s national power utility ZESA, including network planning and construction, operation and maintenance and commercial activities such as energy management and general customer service.

For eight years he served as a business development manager responsible for the development of new business initiatives for the country’s Rural Electrification Fund. From June 2013 to the present day, he has been the Planning and Technology Director under the Rural Electrification Fund. This department is responsible for planning long-term rural energy supply, R&D in renewable energy technologies, piloting renewable energy projects and the documentation and dissemination of rural electrification practices.  He also oversees the mainstreaming of the proven grid and off-grid technologies in the national rural energy supply programmes in the country.
