Frederik joined Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (“CIP”) in 2016, with a focus on onshore renewable energy investments in North America. Since 2020, Frederik has been part of driving CIPs emerging market strategy forward through a dedicated USD 1 billion global investment fund focusing on high-growth emerging economies such as South Africa.
Founded in 2012, CIP today is the world’s largest dedicated fund manager within greenfield renewable energy investments and a global leader in offshore wind. The funds managed by CIP focuses on investments in offshore and onshore wind, solar PV, biomass and energy-from-waste, transmission and distribution, reserve capacity, storage, advanced bioenergy, and Power-to-X. CIP manages 11 funds and has to date raised approximately EUR 26 billion for investments in energy and associated infrastructure from more than 150 international institutional investors. CIP has approximately 400 employees and 12 offices around the world.
Prior to joining CIP, Frederik founded GreenGo Energy, a 100+ person renewable energy IPP with a focus on primarily solar energy assets in Europe and North America. GreenGo Energy has 27 GW of solar, wind, BESS and P2X projects in various stages of development and construction in nine U.S. states, Europe and MENA, of which more than 5 GW has been contracted through partnership framework agreements with Tier-1 investors in the renewable space.
