Hillary and her legal team are responsible for advising on the legal aspects of ENGIE’s businesses in Africa.  Recent successes include achieving financial close of the 250MW Gulf of Suez wind farm in Egypt (MENA Wind Deal of the Year for 2017), and the acquisition by ENGIE in 2017 of multiple companies active in energy services and solar home systems in Africa.

In her capacity as Ethics Officer, Hillary is responsible for developing and promoting a culture of integrity and ethics compliance throughout the ENGIE Africa region.

Hillary joined International Power in 2006 as Legal Counsel, also spending one year on secondment to the company’s investor relations team.  Following ENGIE (formerly GdF Suez) ‘s acquisition of International Power in 2011, Hillary was appointed General Counsel for the UK, Europe, and Turkey region.  She was appointed General Counsel & Ethics Officer for Africa on 1 January 2016.
