Hoda is responsible for enhancing MIGA’s support for the private investors in Africa and strengthening key partnerships. She was previously senior counsel in the legal and claims group at MIGA, where she worked closely with underwriters to structure political risk guarantees in the context of international investments in developing member countries. Her sector focus is energy, infrastructure and financial sector projects.

Before joining MIGA, Hoda was Assistant General Counsel at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), a bilateral US government agency providing financing and political risk insurance to private sector projects in emerging markets.

Prior to joining OPIC, Hoda was in private practice at international law firms, Clifford Chance (Washington, DC) and Mayer Brown (Chicago). She advised multilateral lenders, commercial banks, sponsors and issuers on project financings as well as asset-backed securitisations and other structured finance transactions.

Hoda holds a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and Master’s Degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
