Idesbald is the General Director of the National Agency for Electrification and Energy Services in Rural and Suburban Areas – ANSER – of the DRC. A socio-economist by training, he has 20 years of experience in dealing with issues related to poverty and sustainable development, including 10 years of scientific research on community development models and approaches.

Before leading ANSER, Idesbald spent 5 years at UNDP as Coordinator of the Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development Pillar, Country Advisor for Energy Solutions in the DRC, Specialist in Environmental Issues, Climate Change and Green Economics.

In the implementation of ANSER programmes, whose mission is electrification and energy services, Idesbald ensures that electricity does not simply bring lighting to households but participates in a transformation of the socio-economic fabric of beneficiary communities while taking gender issues into account.
