Jit is the co-Founder and CEO of BasiGo, a company headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya working to electrify Africa’s public transport system.
Jit has been a leader in electric vehicle and lithium-ion battery technology for the past 15 years starting. He served as CEO of Mission Motors, a Silicon Valley company developing high-performance EV technology. He later served as a senior manager in the Special Projects Group at Apple. In 2017, he became Chief Technology Officer for Fenix International, one of the Africa’s leading energy access companies, delivering modern energy systems to over half a million rural homes in sub-Saharan Africa before being acquired by ENGIE in 2019. Prior to launching BasiGo, Jit served as the Kenya-based Principal with Factor[e] Ventures, one of the first venture capital funds to invest in e-mobility in Africa.
Jit holds a Masters in Engineering from Stanford University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
