John is an experienced infrastructure investment professional with specialised focus on power infrastructure, renewable energy, mid-stream oil and gas infrastructure, transport infrastructure (including roads, seaports and terminals and airports) and related sectors. He has expertise in deal origination and negotiations including key risk allocations in project finance deals.

At AIIM, one of the largest and most experienced managers of private sector investments in African infrastructure assets, he is responsible for providing strategic direction for investments in East Africa. AIIM is owned by the Old Mutual Investment Group and has equity under management of $2bn, with a track record extending across seven African infrastructure funds.

John has previously worked as project finance manager at the 1,000MW Amu Power Project as well as an Investment Associate at Quantum Power East Africa. He has a BSc in Actuarial Science (first class honours) from University of Nairobi.
