Kaniaru is based in Nairobi, where he is part of a team that oversees project development and investment efforts in the broader East Africa region.  Prior to joining Globeleq, Kaniaru spent over 10 years at JP Morgan in New York, working in the power and utilities investment banking team focused on the US and Latin America.

He is a graduate of Harvard College and the Harvard Business School.
