Kaushik is a partner at Trinity International LLP and co-heads its Finance, DFI and Francophone practices. Kaushik trained and qualified as a solicitor at Allen & Overy LLP, working for seven years in its Projects, Energy and Infrastructure group, both in London and Paris. Kaushik has particular experience in large power projects, having acted for developers and lenders on a number of the largest IPPs to close in emerging markets in the Middle East and Africa. He also advises on real estate, financial institutions, agriculture and infrastructure projects.
Kaushik’s experience includes advising the the DFI and commercial lenders on the €625m Lake Turkana wind farm financing in Kenya and advising the sponsors on a US$2.5 billion IWPP financing in Saudi Arabia. Kaushik has closed transactions in Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Democratic Repblic of the Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia and has advised on transactions in Latin America, Eastern Europe, and South and South East Asia. Kaushik is also comfortable in leading and working on transactions in the French language and holds law degrees from both English and French universities.
Kaushik received his LLB (Hons) from the University of London with a Diploma in European Legal Studies from the University of Strasbourg. Kaushik qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2003 and was admitted to the State Bar of New York in 2007. Kaushik is a fluent French speaker and has a working knowledge of Hindi, Bengali, Italian and Spanish.
