Lucy joined Actis’ predecessor organisation CDC in 2001 and is responsible for Actis’ renewable generation activity globally. She also leads Actis’ energy activities within Africa and co-ordinates Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) -related efforts for the energy team, working closely with Actis’ specialist Responsible Investment unit.
She has 16 years of investment experience in growth markets, including five years of operational experience as a project director at Globeleq. Recent deal experience includes creation of the Aela and Lekela platforms, for which she is investment manager. Other deals include the acquisition of Songas in Tanzania in 2003 and the acquisition of Sidi Krir in Egypt in 2004. While at Globeleq, Lucy also developed projects in Tanzania, Egypt, Algeria and Nigeria.
Lucy currently serves as a Board member of Lekela Power and Aela Energia. She holds an MA (Hons) degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) from Trinity College, Oxford and an MBA from INSEAD.
