Nikhath is the Business Development Director and Country Manager at Fortescue, where she is responsible for leading Fortescue’s green ammonia project in Kenya. She joined Fortescue in January 2024 from BTE Renewables, a pan-Africa renewables company owned by Actis Energy.
She has more than 15 years of experience in the African power sector, having previously worked for Actis, Berkeley Energy (the Africa Renewable Energy Fund based in Nairobi) and Empower (a Globeleq company). She has a track record of developing and investing in power generation and distribution businesses across the continent and has brought several projects to financial close. She has been a Board member of Eneo, the electricity utility company of Cameroon, as well as Kipeto Energy PLC, Kenya’s second largest wind farm.
Nikhath holds an MA in Computer Science from Cambridge University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
