Muyiwa is a seasoned mechanical and electrical project manager with experience working on commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Between 2008 and 2015, while running several start-up companies that he went on to sell (Zories Solutions, Tranzit), he served as a senior utility infrastructure manager developing projects ranging from an 18MW IPP to an eight million litre industrial water works.

In his current capacity, Muyiwa leads his team of highly specialised experts to provide power sector related advice to the Vice President of Nigeria. He has led his team to ensure that information and data regarding the power sector is clear, and accurate, leading to the development of a power sector dashboard which has become a central source of data for about 500 power sector stakeholders and participants.

To stem poor collections in Nigeria as well as improve available generation, Muyiwa supported the drive for meter regulation resulting in the Meter Asset Provider 2018 Regulation. He has also been working in conjunction with the Niger Delta Power Holding Company on the Power Cities Programme aimed at uptake of 2,000MW across nine cities in Nigeria, which would push generation to more than 7,100MW.

Olumuyiwa is a panellist at the sixth Africa Investment Exchange: Power & Renewables meeting at RSA House, 13-14 November 2019.
