Osaruyi is responsible for AFC’s project development efforts, business development and project origination. He also has in the past managed the AFC-FMO joint project development facility, which deployed early stage investment to projects to achieve bankability. He is the Alternate Director on the Board of the Africa Infrastructure Development Association (AfIDA) and was a former Board Member of Day Star Power Nigeria.

Prior to his current role, Osaruyi joined AFC in 2012, as Strategy & Planning Officer and Special Assistant to the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) where he was responsible for strategy planning and execution, business development and origination.

Osaruyi began his career with Financial Derivatives Company – a boutique investment banking firm in Lagos, in November 2007 as an economic research analyst and left the company as head of Financial Advisory. Osaruyi has an MBA from Lagos Business School, a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Benin and has attended several trainings in project finance, financial modelling, writing and public speaking, entrepreneurship, including a corporate governance course at IMD and other leadership courses at the London Business School.
