Ragnar heads DEG’s energy operations for Africa and Asia with a loan book of more than $500m. In his previous position as director of manufacturing industry and services he was responsible for structuring and contracting DEG’s business in various industry sectors globally.
From 2009 to 2013 he led DEG’s business origination and portfolio management in Africa with investments of some $1.5bn. Before 2009 he set up DEG’s syndication unit.
Prior to 2006 he worked as senior manager on a professional exchange programme with Siemens Financial Services in Munich, with responsibility for project and export finance in the telecommunications sector.
Ragnar graduated from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, in 1996 with a diploma degree in economics.
