Sylvie’s career in the energy and finance arena spans over a decade, beginning at the World Bank, where she supported public sector operations for 5 years, before joining the African Development Bank (AfDB) in 2013. She has worked with several teams within the AfDB, including the Sovereign Energy Operations team, the PPP and Infrastructure Division, the Industry and Service team, and the Energy Financial Solutions Division where she served as Chief Investment Officer. Currently, Sylvie heads the AfDB’s private sector operations in East Africa.

During her tenure at the AfDB, Sylvie has played a pivotal role in structuring over a dozen private sector operations, including the first utility-scale renewable Independent Power Producers (IPP) in Egypt, the largest hydroelectricity scheme in Cameroon, the first IPP in Chad under the AfDB’s Desert to Power flagship programme, and the first privately financed solar project in Tunisia.

Sylvie holds a Post-Graduate Degree in Investment Appraisal from the University of Bradford (UK) and a Master in International Economics from the Johns Hopkins University (USA). She also graduated in Law from the Universite Catholique de Louvain (Belgium) after earning her BA in Law from the Facultes Universitaire Notre-Dame de la Paix (Belgium).
