Timo is an investment specialist and spent most of his career focusing on emerging markets and Africa. Before joining H2 Global, he worked for the AfDB (African Development Bank) to foster collaboration and co-financing with strategic private and public-sector partners. Prior to that, he served as senior advisor to the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), focusing on blended finance approaches and the mobilization of local institutional investors towards alternative assets in Africa and Brazil.

Between 2011-16, Timo was director of business development at Allianz Global Investors, where he oversaw the client coverage and advisory for African institutional investors. Prior to this, he was head of financial institutions and sovereigns for Africa and the Middle East at Raiffeisen Bank International in Vienna and served as chief representative sub-Sahara Africa for UniCredit Group in Johannesburg, managing investment portfolios in the region of up to $3bn, equivalent.
