Yusuf is the embedded power sector advisor in the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria under the TBI/Power Africa Senior Advisors Group programme. In this capacity, Yusuf advises senior members of the Nigerian federal government on far-reaching power sector reforms. Prior to taking this role, Yusuf worked in TBI’s Middle East practice where he undertook policy consulting work, helping leaders in the region analyse their options on a broad array of issues.
Before joining the institute, Yusuf worked as a management consultant at the Nigerian office of McKinsey & Co. He completed his PhD in energy policy with a focus on the Nigerian power sector from the University of Cambridge. He has an MPhil In Nuclear Energy from the University of Cambridge as well as a BEng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Manchester.
