Yusuf is a trained Electrical Engineer with over a decade of experience in the energy sector, he has worked in both the private and public sectors, contributing his quota to the industry’s development.
Yusuf is currently the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of RIPLE – an NSIA-backed $500 million equity investment platform which develops, invests and operates in projects across the renewable energy value chain in Nigeria and potentially other African countries.
Yusuf started his professional career at the Honeywell Group Limited, an indigenous conglomerate boasting a diverse portfolio. During his time at Honeywell, he played a pivotal role in establishing the company’s energy business division which culminated in the acquisition of a portfolio of circa 30MW capacity in Lagos, as well as building a greenfield 23MW thermal plant in Sagamu, Ogun State.
In January 2019, Yusuf transitioned to the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), where he led NSIA’s energy portfolio. Demonstrating strong commitment to sustainable energy, Yusuf led the development and construction of the groundbreaking Kano Solar Project in Kano State. This project stands as the largest grid-connected solar plant in Nigeria.
