As of August 2020, Jurie joined Gigajoule as its CEO, working closely with Johan de Vos, the Executive Chairman. Gigajoule is a project developer and owner active in the natural gas and gas-to-power industry primarily focusing on Mozambique.

Jurie was involved with African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM) since its inception in 2000. He served as CEO from 2014 to 2020, as an Exco member of Old Mutual Alternative Investments in his capacity as the head of its infrastructure capability from 2007 and continues to serve on the AIIF fund series Investment Committees.

He started his working career as a civil engineering contractor, working on large civil engineering projects before converting to finance.
