Erik has 25 years of experience in developing, structuring, financing, constructing, and managing energy infrastructure investments worldwide and has closed over $5.5bn of project transactions. In 2019, Erik founded Milele Energy, a Nairobi-based platform with projects in Kenya and Sierra Leone and served of the Board of Directors of the 310 MW Lake Turkana Power project, Africa’s largest wind farm. Prior to launching Milele, Erik was Managing Director and Deal Execution Leader for Africa at GE Capital. Erik led the team responsible for origination, risk assessment and execution of new investment opportunities in support of GE equipment sales across Africa.

Prior to joining GE in Africa, Erik was Vice President – Commercial Management at Atlantic Power Corporation in Boston, where he was responsible for managing the company’s origination, underwriting, and execution of acquisitions, as well as for providing commercial support to the company’s portfolio of power generation and transmission assets. Before that, Erik was a Senior Vice President at GE Capital where he led the Risk team charged with executing equity and debt investments in Global Growth Markets and then oversaw the development, financing, and construction of wind power projects in the US.

Prior to GE, Erik held various positions at CMS Energy for 11 years, focused on the development and financing of independent power projects globally, including closing the first private power projects in Morocco and Ghana. Erik has also worked at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and the Export-Import Bank of the United States. Erik graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA from American University (Washington, DC).
