Mohammed is an economist with a background in energy & utilities advising on the transition to a more digital and sustainable future. He has experience in economic and financial analysis, regulation and restructuring, market design, demand side management and digitalization.

More recently Mohammed has been focusing on the deployment of artificial intelligence in the energy sector. Mohammed was also a contributory author to DNV’s Energy Transition Outlook, which foresees a tripling of electric power demand in the Middle East by 2050.

Mohammed is currently the Area Manager of Middle East and Africa for DNV based in the UAE; with offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Casablanca and Cape Town. He has been the project director for a diverse set of customers in over 20 countries.

His global experience includes countries such as Angola, Denmark, Egypt, Ghana, the GCC, Lebanon, Southeast Europe, Mozambique, Namibia, Pakistan, Turkey, South Africa, Tanzania, UK, Ukraine, Vietnam and Yemen.

With a Masters’ in Energy Economics and Executive Leadership courses from INSEAD and MIT in the areas of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, Mohammed continues to support the energy transition to a more sustainable future.
