Garry has more than 25 years’ international energy industry experience in a variety of executive, finance, M&A, asset management, technical and commercial roles with Halliburton, Total, Shell and Orsted, across a variety of geographies. He began his career in engineering before progressing into commercial, business development and asset management roles including management of Shell’s UK North Sea non-operated portfolio. After leaving Shell, he took on a leadership role with Orsted, playing a significant role in establishing their UK upstream business and positioning the company for a successful exit. He then also launched and led a UK upstream focused private-equity start-up (Peturos), securing cornerstone equity funding and a follow-on debt package.
Garry now leads the finance team at Sound Energy plc (the UK, AIM listed transition Energy Company), as Chief Financial Officer. Along with other members of the Sound Energy executive team, Garry is responsible for delivering growth through the company’s revenue focused, transition-energy based strategy including investments in gas and renewable energy opportunities, leveraging the company’s skills, relationships and experience.
Garry holds a masters in Structural Engineering from Heriot-Watt University and is a Chartered Engineer.
