James is a Managing Director at Cygnum Capital and leads Corporate Investment Banking, covering M&A and debt/equity financing across energy, infrastructure and industrial sectors. He previously established and managed the African Local Currency Bond Fund, investing in 15 African countries between 2015-21.

James was previously a Senior Consultant at Cambridge Economic Policy Associates where he advised multilaterals, regulators and utilities on infrastructure financing issues. Prior to that, worked for Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Nairobi.  He has a Masters in Development Economics and a first class MA in History and Economics from Balliol College, Oxford.
