John has 20 years’ experience working in the energy and infrastructure sectors with a focus on gas projects where he has been involved in some of the largest LNG projects in emerging economies including in Qatar, Papua New Guinea and across the African continent as well as working on gas fired power projects and other gas transportation and downstream utilisation projects. Having previously worked for Linklaters / Webber Wentzel in South Africa and Latham & Watkins in London on the legal side and as an independent commercial consultant, John now leads the development of the Temane gas fired power project for Globeleq in Mozambique and plays a senior leadership role at Globeleq as the Head of Southern Africa and in growing Globeleq’s gas business across the African continent.
In addition to his Globeleq role, John regularly leads training seminars with senior government officials and other stakeholders related to energy and oil & gas developments and financings. John also is an LNG expert for the US Government’s Departments of State and Commerce and provides technical assistance with respect to LNG projects to governments around the world with a focus on new LNG buyers.
John holds a Juris Doctor of Law degree from the University of Washington and an undergraduate degree from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. He is a member of the New York bar.
