Tarik is in charge of the development of projects relating to the new missions of MASEN (including wind, hydro, waste to energy and desalination) and the transfer and deployment of renewable projects and assets from ONEE (Office National of Electricity and Potable Water) to MASEN.

Before joining MASEN, Tarik was the Executive Director of Power Generation Projects and Programmes at ONEE. He has more than 12 years of managerial experience in leading the development of large scale power generation projects in Morocco, including IPPs and PPP projects for different fuels and technologies including thermal power plants (clean coal and gas) and renewables (wind and solar). Tarik has also been in charge of securing ancillary power infrastructure (port and storage) as well as successfully managing land acquisition processes.

Tarik was previously head of ONEE’s gas turbine division, in charge of the maintenance of ONEE’s gas turbine fleet (1,320 MW). He established ONEE’s first long term maintenance contracts with GE for the Mohammedia and Kenitra plants and managed the retrofitting of ONEE’s gas turbine fleet (GE Frame 6 and Frame 5 units.

Tarik is an engineer and has an MBA from Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées Paris, France, a specialised Master’s degree in Industrial IT Systems from Ecole Centrale and INSA Lyon, France, and a Master’s degree (engineer diploma) in Electrical Engineering and in Automation from Ecole Centrale-Supelec (Ecole Supérieure d’Electricité) Paris, France.
